Beginners Class
We give people 10/15mins to get through the door before we start our Beginners class. This is attended by both new comers and experienced dancers to help out. You will be taught 3 beginners moves, which are broken down individually and explained in 'slow time'.
Once these moves have been grasped they are linked together to allow dancers to practice a small routine continually. This allows existing dancers to introduce, during the freestyle sessions, moves from previous weeks, thus building up their own routine in a relatively short space of time.
Freestyle Session
In the freestyle session we turn up the music, change to mood lighting and practice the moves you have been taught to a more relaxed environment or simply dance moves from your repertoire. This is a chance to mix with the other dancers and learn from them. It is also an opportunity to see what levels SalsaJive can be taken to. SalsaJive Support dancers will go around the room to get people up if you wish to do so and be on hand for advice and help.
Beginners 1-2-1 Instruction
The second beginners class is more of a virtual one to one basis, by the SalsaJive Support dancers on the moves you have just been taught. This is done at a very relaxed pace where questions are encouraged, ensuring by the end of the class, that all dancers are comfortable with the nights routine. Its also an opportunity to recap previous weeks moves if required.
Intermediate Class
While the beginners have their second class the intermediate/advanced dancers have their class which also consists of 3 moves that are linked together.
Freestyle Session
We then break into freestyle again giving everyone the chance to dance some more or relax and socialise or a bit of both.
